Customer:
Maharashtra Chemical Industries Pvt. Ltd.
Project Category:
Chemical Manufacturing Industry
Customer Requirement:
The client required an industrial drying solution for chemical materials that could support controlled moisture reduction while improving the organisation and repeatability of the drying stage. The requirement called for an enclosed system with suitable airflow and heat circulation, along with a design that could be integrated into an industrial production environment. The system also needed to reduce dependence on conventional heat during favourable solar conditions without compromising the need for process-specific temperature and moisture control.
Project Result:
The installed system provided the client with an enclosed, solar-assisted industrial drying route for controlled moisture removal from the intended chemical material. It supported more organised batch drying and reduced reliance on conventional energy input during suitable solar operating conditions. The project also expanded Rudra Solar Energy’s solar-drying application portfolio beyond conventional food and agricultural commodities into a specialized industrial use case, while keeping the drying objective focused on moisture reduction rather than broader chemical processing.
What we did:
Rudra Solar Energy designed and supplied a customized stainless-steel industrial solar drying system for this project, based on the client’s chemical-processing requirement. The system was engineered around controlled heated-air movement, organised material loading and moisture removal rather than simply achieving a high chamber temperature. The project approach included: evaluating the required drying application and batch requirement; configuring the enclosed drying chamber for the specific industrial use; planning airflow and heat circulation across the loaded material; using a stainless-steel industrial dryer configuration for this project; supporting installation and operator familiarisation; integrating solar-assisted drying into the client’s existing production workflow. For industrial chemical applications, final operating conditions should always be determined from the actual material properties, required moisture endpoint and safety requirements rather than using a universal drying temperature.

Project Description

Rudra Solar Energy Pvt. Ltd. delivered a customized industrial solar dryer for chemical processing for a chemical manufacturing application in Maharashtra. The system was developed to support controlled moisture reduction from compatible solid chemical materials using solar-assisted thermal energy and managed airflow inside an enclosed drying chamber. Unlike agricultural drying, chemical drying requires closer attention to material compatibility, operating temperature, moisture target, tray loading, airflow distribution and process safety. For this project, the drying system was configured around the client’s production requirement rather than applying a standard food-dryer setup. The project demonstrates how an industrial solar drying system can be considered for suitable non-volatile solid materials where controlled thermal moisture removal is technically appropriate. Solar drying should not be assumed suitable for every chemical: flammable, volatile, corrosive, toxic or reactive materials require separate engineering and safety assessment before any drying system is selected.
